So a question for the club. Does Williams work better after being grated into a container??
Well, just for the reason of making it fit in the bowl better, yes.
Above your post where I write that I was adding water to the puck (w/o shredding it) the water was pulling something really good out of the soap, but that only lasted for maybe 6 or so shaves before I could only work up foam and not lather.
Off the subject but.... FWIW, I use it more in the summer than in the winter for some reason. Maybe the lemon verbena scent?

For now one will go into my Box Of Vintage Soaps, the other will probably go on display in my office at work. But, I hope to live long enough to eventually use up every one I have! ]
You have stuff at work?? That is pretty ballsy!! I mentioned it at work and people don't know what the heck to think. One guy finally came clean that he thought it was a bunch of discarded cartridges collected in a big glass jar. Thats what he thought anyways.
I haven't really shared too much - folks don't seem all that interested when I do.
Now all you need is a private john to go with that private office so you can use that stuff on the bookcase and file cabinet. Oh, wait! Can't ask for that yet as you just go the key to the exec washroom!

I thought I would post this here. But on another form I almost took it as a dare for me to try to come up with a soap similar to vintage Williams. (hope this is okay Fuzzy)
I went with my skill as a soapmaker and the ingredient list on a box of vintage Williams.
My ingredient list will look like this.... oh look... it's very similar to the vintage label. Tallow, Stearic Acid, Water, Coconut Oil, Sodium Hydroxide, Potassium Hydroxide, Fragrance, Titanium Dioxide
This lather was created from rubbing my brush on the little bit of soap that was still stuck to my miniature spatula. Just think how much better it would get from being swirled on a puck of this stuff? Also I was holding the brush in my right hand and lathering on my left arm. I needed to do it that way so I could take pictures! I'm left handed so I can't wait to see what this can do when I can lather it properly!
And out of the mold, now it just needs to harden up some as it's still soft.
9nein9: To like or not to like the like button? That is the question. Our society thrives off the like button it seems . I'm not sure if I like it or I don't like it.Just kind of got used to it .

carlfrommo: Hey guys. Last minute question here. What shot size should I use for flying reindeer?

ordinaryshaver: You want to use 3 1/2 in magnum lead shot, in size T. Problem solved.

ordinaryshaver: No steel, too light and use an extra full choke, unless you have a good blind setup

carlfrommo: Well, last night was a failure. I had one shot, and I didn't lead the red-nosed one enough. I think I ended up shooting the driver. Might have gotten him in the leg. Hard to tell because he was wearing red pants and coat.

carlfrommo: He turned his sled away and landed on the roof two blocks down. Out of range for a second shot. I did notice he walked with a bit of a limp though. He shouldn't be coming in my yard anyway.

mrconklin: Last time I hunted waterfowl. 2 3/4 shells were standard and the cool kids were starting to play with the 3 inch, but most guns weren't made for them. Steel was also just starting to be mandated on Federal and State land.
