Let's get this week started. It is Menthol Monday.
Proraso Pre Shave Proraso Shaving Soap Jayaruh #144 Schick E2 Personna Stainless CWR Thayer's Peach WH Barbasol AS
I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Proraso Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #144 finest badger brush. I did the two passes with the Schick E2 and Personna Stainless blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Peach WH and then Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Tuesday 15th August Zenith 507 TS Tabac The General Feather Pro #3 Alum wash Tabac Original A/S Lisseáu Coconut Body Butter Tabac Tuesday worked extremely well with the General. I'm also quite impressed with the A/S which has pretty good longevity. The Feather blade is maturing nicely.
RazoRock Syn. 24mm Stirling Baker Street PAL S/S Adj Schick NOS Super Chrome coated [ 3 ] Alum rub/Rinse off Tuff Green A/S Lotion
A complete contrast to previous days Shaves with modern S/S SEs, the small S/S Injector. With its small head the Shave seemed to take longer, though it was very smooth and comfortable.
Was rather disappointed in the quality of the finished Shave, and am sure that I have attained really close Shaves with other blades.Must get around to trying a Schick Proline in it, and see how that AC type blade performs.
Late post for Tuesday shave. I was digging around and found some C&E Sandalwood soap. I have had this soap for probably 8 years now. Still a great smelling and performing soap. The Semogue 1460 has some wild looking bristles but works great!

Wednesday 16th August 2017 Prep: Shower Razor: Star 1912 Blade: ER Corrux NOS (9) Brush: EverShave Angel Synthetic Soap: Tabac Stick Aftershave: Astral Cream (soft) EDP: Miller Harris Tuberosa
Probably my best shave so far with this blade: 20 laps on Hessian and 20 on Horse have left a super comfortable edge. I do not claim this to be the ultimate blade treatment but it seemed to work; having said that, so have many other stropping methods! I am really enjoying using this blade as it shaves as well as you prepare it and any less than good shaves cannot be blamed on the blade.
My first shave with this new brush from the Etsy seller EverShave it is a really nice knot more flexible than the similar fan shaped black and white knot I also purchased, so for my tastes I like it better. Is it better than the Cashmere knot? I am unsure, the difference is so small it is hard to choose; does it beat my favourite knot the L'Occitane Plisson knot? for me, no.

Vulfix 404 mixed Vitos Red Croap Schick E2 Schick Proline AC blade- Type B [ 2 ] Alum Rub/Rinse Off Massimo Dutti A/S Lotion
Originally I brought these AC blades to see if I could put a bit of life into Supply Single Edge. I thought with a bit of luck they would fit into Vintage Injectors. Well they do if loaded via a Host Keyed Dispenser. Am quite surprised at how few folk have tried this blade which IMHO is better than the Chick, and the Japanese standard blade.
Today was my second outing with the blade in a Schick E2. Calms down the E2 a lot,but still plenty of blade feel to let you know where the Razor needs to work a bit more. Taking care and not rushing paid dividends, the quality of finished Shave equals/ betters many of those I have had with the likes of the Mongoose/ Claymore & Colonial which also use an AC blade. However, will not be using the E2 as a Daily Razor, as it still packs a punch and needs good concentration.
SOAP: Williams BRUSH: Jayaruh 192 RAZOR: my SE adjustable creation. AS: Aqua Velva
This was my first shave with my newly created razor. I started out on the middle setting. Starting with 2 days growth. I laid the cap on my cheek and dropped down to make blade contact. It is a very quiet razor. I attribute that to it being secured very well.
I finished the first pass. I found this setting to be very comfortable. Lathered up for pass 2 and dialed it up all the way. Now we are talking. A more aggressive shave. I never felt that it was going to bite me.
Lathered for pass 3 and dialed it down all the way. Very mild shave. It easily went ATG on my upper lip. I do find this more mild than I prefer.
First impressions. The handle is of nice diameter to grip. I will add some groves for added grip for soapy hands. Head size is on the large size. Not overly so though. Using your standard 1912 shave techniques it easily gets your mustache area.
I did not find the angle to be bad at all. I will however make another razor with a lower head profile. That way I can fine tune if needed.
Overall I am extremely pleased with this first functional go.
wchnu: If I liked him more I might actually feel bad about that.
