Very good shave, though not excellent as yesterday's, most likely due to the fact that I've not used the wonderful home made pre-shave oil I normally use. The Arkadia, as all the Stirling soaps I've tried, has a wonderful smell...to my nose this one is very, very similar to Terre d'Hermes. Though the glide and post shave feel are top notch, I find that it provides a little less cushion and protection than other favourites of mine. Nevertheless, an excellent soap.
Enjoy your day, my friends!

RazoRock Syn. 22mm Lea Classic Soap ES Claymore V1 Feather Pro [ 3 ] Alum rub/Rinse off Lea classic A/S Lotion
Getting more accomplished with this Razor, because of the head am able to make subtle changes to the Shaving Angle for use in different areas. A most smooth and close Shave , finding the Pro not causing me any problems.
Omega 11137 boar Tabac Brass General Schick Proline Type P [ 8 ] Alum Rub/Rinse off Tabac A/S lotion
I have decided not to choose between The General/Claymore as a favourite, as they both produce Stirling Shaves. Though I still am not keen on the handle on The General, it is not slippy but somehow feels a bit insecure particularly on upstrokes.
As usual today`s shave was very smooth , with a good quality finish. The Schick blade is again proving to be a winner in this Razor,as despite being on its 8th outing, shows no sign of dulling.
Well, today, I tried out a GEM Reversible blade for the first time. jimjo1031 at TSD sent me three to try out. The first one I opened looked good, so I was determined to give it a try. I got out my GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip for this shave. It is my birth era razor, introduced in 1947, my birth year.
The Jeeves of Hudson Street Shaving Soap face-lathered well with my Jayaruh #199 synthetic brush. I did the two passes with the GEM Micromatic Bullet Tip razor and GEM Reversible SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. It was smooth with no issues. I washed the blade and belly stropped it before putting it back in the razor for tomorrow's adventure in Reversible blade shaving. After a cold water rinse and alum block, I finished off with Thayer's Lemon WH and then Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
Friday 7th July Virginia Sheng Purtec Tabac Stick Rocnel SE-P ½ Shark Super Stainless #2 Alum Wash Fahrenheit A/S Neutrogena Comfort Balm Another soap stick that is really easy to apply to the face, with the nice Tabac scent quite apparent while building the lather. The Shark SS blade is one of my favourites in the Rocnel SE-P type of razor giving me a really efficient result. Making a really happy shaver this Friday.
