A Shave today of two parts , using "wild" comb on my RHS and the "mild" on the LHS. Part 1 Commencing the shave with short strokes, not only was there considerable audible noise, but it was quite apparent that whisker removal was taking place. Whilst the shave was very easy and not uncomfortable, I preferred the use of the " notso" comb yesterday. I probably expected this as when using adjustable razors, I tend to get the best on a medium setting.
Part 2 Changing combs is quite easy , I have no problems with the Knurled nut which locks the combs in place. Returning to the shave , the first few strokes were so smooth, that it felt that the razor had no blade in it . A quick face feel revealed that stubble removal was taking place . It would be easy to overshave , so i confined myself to my usual 3 pass shave.
Overall The finished shave was as yesterday extremely good , up there with the best I have ever had. The shave longevity however seems a bit longer than that achieved with other razors , felt quite smooth and clean in the evening. However, unlike some I still need to save daily, but that is not a problem as using this razor , I have no after shave problems.
Omega s11165 synthetic OSP Bay Rum Bunny V3- "notso" comb Schick S/S single [ 1- Japan] Alum Rub/Rinse Off Aqua Velva A/S Bunny-Third Shave.
While shaving with the Bunny , have decided that most shaves will be done with modern available blades. So having tried the Chinese Schick, I have loaded the Japanese Single Schick.
Starting the shave with short strokes, the cutting action was noticeable though very smooth , and there was slight audible rasp. It seemed that the Shave went very quickly, the end result being very good , but not much different from that accomplished with the " Chick" on the same comb setting.Still not getting it right on the upper lip around the nostrils. Have had no problems with the smooth handle, but then I do not when using other razors fitted with them.

I seem to be developing my own tradition - wedge blade weekends.
When I have a little extra time to devote to shaving (like on the weekends) I tend to reach for one of the wedge blade razors, and this Rapide is rapidly (heehee - pun intended) becoming a favorite. This was shave #7 since honing and this blade is sharp and smooth as ever.

Bunny Fourth Shave
Realising that perhaps due to rushing things yesterday, I did not give the Razor/Blade combination a fair assessment. Also I may have got the Lather consistency wrong.Decide to be quite deliberate, and also time the shave.
Using a soap which for me provide good glide , it was quite apparent that after the first few strokes the Razor was doing its Job. In fact I could have finished shaving after Two Passes, as I had already attained a more than acceptable finish . However, I completed my usual 3 passes, and finished up with a really superb close Shave, with no problems. I could easily use this a Daily Razor, but would miss the enjoyment of rotating Razors.
Obviously taking Care & Time works , the Shave from Lathering to application of After Shave took 14mins 35sec. I have timed Deliberate Shaves before, which took circa 15mins.

Rolls Viscount Chiseled Face Groomatorium Cryogen pre-shave gel Maggard Razors synthetic brush Chiseled Face Groomatorium Midnight Stag soap Clubman Special Reserve aftershave
Today I continued my "wedgie weekend" while trying out some of the goodies from yesterday's shaving convention.
The Cryogen pre-shave gel is a non oil-based pre-shave that provides plenty of slickness along with the menthol blast expected from anything in the Cryogen line. Essentially it turns any shave soap in to a menthol soap.
The Midnight Stag soap provided the excellent lather I've come to expect from CFG soaps, but the scent is something else. More on this in the soap forum.
The Rolls is a unique razor - there is nothing that shaves like it, although a Rapide is in the same ballpark. With the pre-shave I was able to do a little extra touch-up/blade buffing and ended up with a BBS shave and no irritation.

Fifth Bunny Shave Decided to stick to "notso" comb, which seems to be the one to suit me best. The main variation being that I tried a cream instead of a soap. Razor worked smoothly and quickly cleared lather at the same time, so had to rinse head frequently. The Resulting shave was very good, but at the end seemed to need extra polishing up strokes to finish off the Shave.
I removed the comb, and found that the space between the Head and the back of the comb was full off compressed cream residue, which may have affected the performance of the razor near the end of the Shave. I shall revert to the use of soap in future shaves.
