J. A. Henkels Twinworks Rapide Henkels Twinworks Rapide wedge blade (4th shave since honing) The Grooming Co. synthetic brush Art of Shaving Sandalwood soap (old style - tallow based) Myrsol Agua de Limon aftershave
The J. A. Henkels Twinworks Rapide is probably the best known of the Rapides, despite its being a copy of the Ernst Scharff Rapide that was introduced when the Scharff patent expired. The head is identical to the spring-loaded blade clip version of the Earnst Scharff Rapide - the only difference is the handle.
Henkels replaced the slender lined handle with one that is slightly longer, 30% larger in diameter, and nicely knurled. It is apparently hollow, as it only increases the razor's weight by .15 oz.
Of course Henkels included a blade made from their own Solingen steel, which is pretty good steel to put it mildly and can be honed to a wicked edge.
Not surprisingly it shaves a lot like the Ernst Scharff Rapide - a great shave to start the week.
Yesterday I said I thought these blades were sharp and, by golly, they really are. Got to comfortable/over confident and tore myself up. It's definetely a close shave as noted by all the blood. Doesn't help that I"m on blood thinners as well, sorta exacerbates the situation. Now to go heal and y'all go enjoy your day folks
Bulldog Shower Gel Habitat Shaving Soap (Vintage) Semogue Owner's Club Boar in Ash Face Lathered GEM Micromatic (Later Version) & GEM Stainless (1) Single Pass - WTG (Slide)
Hot Rinse, Cold Rinse & Alum Wash Witch Hazel Toner Geoffrey Beene Grey Flannel Aftershave & EDT Pinaud Eau de Portugal Hair Tonic
While the original Micromatic with the flat base plate is an aggressive razor, the revised version with nubs on the base plate is not - it is a good way of bringing in a fresh blade, giving a mild and forgiving shave, restraining the searing freshness of the edge.
Habitat soap is a fun one. Like an old-fashioned version of the L'Occitane bowl, the soap inside has a clean, fresh, zesty note even today. I'm guessing '80s vintage.
Brush: Omega S10065 Soap: The Strop Shoppe "Barbershoppe" Razor: Gem 1912 Made in England (aluminium handle) Blade: Gem by Personna Stainless Post: Floid Blue AS + Cologne
Taking inspiration from Paul's SOTD, and feeling that with this 1912 my usual 2 passes were a bit stressful for my skin, especially on blade's 1st and 2nd shave, I decided to go for the one-pass shave (WTG-Slide). The result was surprisingly good, obviously not as close as with a 2-pass shave, but still the best "closeness/skin stressing" ratio I could have. Wonderful!
Have a good day, gentlemen.

Schick M1 Adjustable razor Personna 74 (day 3) RazoRock Plissoft brush Williams SS Osage Rub/Witch Hazel w/aloe Pinaud Clubman A/S
Turned down the aggression on the M1 and did much better today. Much more comfortable and still very effective. Love Williams too! I get great creamy lathers from it and it works so well for me. Now go enjoy your day folks
Was wondering if it was a wise move to go for the UK Bunny pass around. Had to go early today to collect it from Royal Mail collection centre , as missed delivery yesterday. So as not to miss a Shave collected it early in time for todays shave.
It came nicely packaged, but with the most agressive of 3 combs fitted, so I easily changed to the medium setting [ "notso" ]. I chose a reliable Soap [croap] and well lathered started the shave. Was quite easy to get the angle right by laying Spring/Head flat against the Face, and angling until it bit.Using small strokes, I got a really smooth shave, which was very efficient too. Apart from having difficulty around the upper lip, the Razor was easy to use in all areas, and I ended up with one of the best Shaves, i have achieved with any Razor.
Now even a few hours later, my normally prickly face is still feeling rather Smooth. All my fears about using this Razor Have been dispelled.

Pashana Original Shampoo Rolls Razor Shaving Stick (Vintage) Semogue Owner's Club Boar in Cherry Face Lathered GEM Micromatic Clog Pruf (17 Tooth) & GEM Stainless (2) Single Pass - WTG (Slide)
Hot Rinse, Cold Rinse & Alum Wash Witch Hazel Toner Aramis Aftershave & EDT Pashana Original Hair Tonic
Ahhhh ... that's better!
The Clog Pruf followed the basic open comb Micromatic and improved upon it substantially. This early 17 tooth Clog Pruf was a jot to use. I have to say, it was muted compared to the 1912, but gave a good shave, clean and comfortable. Yes, in one pass. That'll do me ...
